This week’s topic is herbal tea and it’s health benefits. I saw this wheel in a tea shop up North and couldn’t resist taking a snap of it to share (If you would like me to text you a better copy just email me back with your phone #). The healing properties of plants are well known and people have been using them in all cultures all over the world for centuries.
Here are a few I drink regularly and what health conditions they may help. I do recommend organic and looseleaf where possible.
Organic nettle tea – mineral rich, lymph system stimulation, adrenal support (which everyone needs due to the stress in our lives), menopause symptom relief, pms symptom relief, kidney support etc.
Holy Basil Tulsi tea – respiratory support, helps to enhance the immune system, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory properties, mineral rich, cortisol regulation etc.
Peppermint tea – improve digestion, relax the body and mind, helps with bad breath, boosting the immune system, etc
Milk thistle, burdock root and dandelion tea – 3 very powerful herbs that may improve liver health. As we know from my previous newsletters our livers are very overburdened so it is very important to support it in every way we can.
Hibiscus tea – relief from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, digestive system support, inflammatory problems, etc.
Hawthorn tea – diseases of the heart and blood vessels such as congestive heart failure, chest pain, and irregular heart beat, hardening of the arteries etc.
Buy yourself a tea infuser and incorporate these fabulous teas into your daily routine. Mix and match them. You won’t regret it!!!
